Dimos Kontoravdis, Public Sector Services Unit Leader of PLANET, was one of the invited keynote speakers at the Athens Digital Health Week 2024 – ADHW co-organised by IDIKA S.A. – the Hellenic eGovernment Center for Social Security Services and the National eHealth Authority (NeHA) of Cyprus. The five-day event was hosted in Athens between the 15th and the 19th of January 2024 by HL7 Hellas.
The goal of the event was to bring together those involved in the digital health community, governance, health authorities, regulatory bodies, public health, policy-making, healthcare services, research, academia, industry, standardization / terminologies, interoperability, data processing, data security to discuss issues of digital health and to promote collaboration of digital health initiatives.
Mr Kontoravdis in his speech, titled “The challenge of applying AI in assisting diagnosis of imaging examinations” presented the work of PLANET in the ongoing RIS PACS project of IDIKA, that will eventually allow the central management of all country's radiological diagnostic data and focused on the challenges and opportunities presented by the use of AI and in PACS and VNA systems.
