The Challenge
The Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO), an independent company that came as a result of the unbundling of energy sector in Greece after separation from the Public Power Corporation (PPC), decided to implement a new goal-oriented and KPI based Performance Management System to replace its legacy system for personnel evaluation based on each supervisor’s personal judgement.
In parallel, IPTO has embarked into a holistic digital transformation programme and as such, the new performance management system could benefit more if implemented in a technologically modern environment as well.
The Approach
PLANET was asked in the context of its broader collaboration with IPTO to support also the operationalization of the new Performance Management System (PMS) in terms of:
- Further elaborating and detailing the KPIs and the procedures for the whole life cycle of the PMS, i.e. goal setting, interim review, final appraisal and for all the units in the organizational chart.
- Providing guidance and support to incumbents during the first runs of the new PMS implementation
- Supporting the digital implementation of the new PMS based on the technology choices of IPTO.
Working out the operational and technological details, thus enabling the implementation of the new Performance Management System
Results & Impact
IPTO is implementing as part of its overall business and digital transformation, a new Performance Management System that provided incumbents with a clear picture of their expected performance and a fair assessment of the results achieved.
