Project Overview
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, in collaboration with the Holy Archdiocese of Athens, initiated a series of vital projects aimed at preserving and enhancing Greece's religious and cultural heritage. The projects include the design and construction of the Ecclesiastical Metropolitan Museum, the restoration of the historic building of the former Holy Synod, and the rehabilitation of the Holy Temple of St. Andrea. These projects are central to the preservation of Greece’s cultural identity while responding to contemporary needs for public and religious spaces.
PLANET provided technical consulting services to the Directorate of Building Infrastructure, supporting the Ministry through all phases of these projects, from the preliminary design phase to the preparation of tender documents and works.
Consultant's Role and Scope of Work
PLANET was responsible for the comprehensive support to the Ministry during the various stages of these projects. Our team assisted the Directorate of Building Infrastructure in navigating the regulatory processes with the Ministry of Culture, preparing necessary studies, and ensuring the proper tendering procedures were followed.
The work included reviewing and evaluating provided data, updating preliminary designs, and assisting in the approval and licensing procedures with relevant public bodies such as the Ministry of Culture. The consultant also supported the preparation of Tender Dossiers for designs and works, as well as conducting specialized research for the restoration and maintenance of sacred sites. Additionally, the consultant ensured the proper execution of legal due diligence, urban planning assessments, and the acceleration of necessary procedures for obtaining required licenses and approvals.
