Laying the Groundwork
The project, part of the Framework Agreement for Providing Technical Consulting Services to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, focuses on offering technical support to the Directorate of Road Infrastructure by overseeing and ensuring the successful development of key road infrastructure projects on the island of Evia, including the Bypass of Chalkida and Psachna, as well as the completion of Kymis Avenue.

Monitoring Design and Construction of Road Sections
The Bypass of Chalkida and Psachna project involves two key road sections:
- A 2 km section from Nea Lampsako to Vathrovouni Tunnel.
- A 14.7 km section from the Vathrovouni Tunnel to Psachna.
Additionally, the project includes optional supplementary works such as:
- The section "A. K. Schimatariou – Nea Lampsakos" (approx. 4 km).
- The Psachna bypass and the North-South Evia thoroughfare that connects the Chalkida bypass with the southern Evia road network.
In parallel, the consultant supports the design and construction of Kymis Avenue, a key road axis with a length of 3.8 km, with an option to extend the connection to the Kalyftaki interchange.
Ensuring Quality and Progress
Based on its expertise PLANET is responsible for overseeing several critical aspects of the project:
- Contract Signing: Assistance with the signing of contracts for the optional project components.
- Study Monitoring and Coordination: Coordinating and monitoring the required studies for project maturation.
- Quality and Completeness Control: Ensuring that all studies performed by contractors were complete, accurate, and of the highest quality.
- Specialized Support: Providing specialized technical services and attending meetings as required.
Reports prepared by the consultant included evaluation of existing design data and its refinement, progress reports and audit evaluations of studies conducted by the contractor, and ad hoc reports on specific technical issues as required.

By providing continuous oversight and technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, the consultant ensures that both the Bypass of Chalkida and Psachna and Kymis Avenue Completion projects will met their design and quality standards, supporting the development of crucial infrastructure that will improve transportation efficiency and regional connectivity.
